Overview

'Mr. Big' is an active listening scheme of work for Key Stage 1 with optional PSHE activites. Inspired by the book 'Mr. Big' by Ed Vere, the scheme introduces children to the jazz genre and helps to develop their understanding of contrasting musical elements - Dynamics, Pitch, Tempo, Mood and Instrumentation. The activities create opportunities for children to listen critically, use their voices expressively and improvise musical contrasts using untuned percussion instruments.
