Jazz North, Brighter Sound, One Education and The Northern School of Jazz are working in partnership to run a series of Manchester Youth Jazz collective workshops at Band on the Wall this Spring.
Activities run over two Sunday afternoons (16th Feb and 16th March) and a three day Easter course (7th-9th April). For young instrumentalist and singers aged 8-18. Learn the art of improvisation, create new music and play in groups. Led by leading Jazz educators and workshop leaders supported by established players and teachers with the support of Jazz North and One Education Music.
Working in small groups, each made up of young musicians of a similar standard, the participants will compose and devise arrangements and new music, learn ensemble skills and ways to further their improvisation skills. The sessions are suitable for ages 8-18 (any instrument / ability although some experience is necessary).
