Jazz North sets up creative exchange between Manchester-based Efpi Records and Paris’ Onze Heures Onze
Manchester-based label and collective Efpi is bound to Paris to play at festival Onze Heures Onze as part of a new international pilot programme run by Jazz North to support creative and professional exchange between ‘scene builders’ – the new generation of artists who are also promoters.
The Anton Hunter Trio (Anton Hunter, Johnny Hunter, James Adolpho) will play at Studio de l’Ermitage on Tuesday 12th May, halfway through the Onze Heures Onze annual festival, alongside a solo set by Rhodes player Jozef Dumoulin and duo Donkey Monkey.
On Monday 11th May at the Triton, a larger selection of Efpi artists, including Ben Cottrell and Cath Roberts, will also take part in a creative session with musicians from Onze Heures Onze collective (including pianist Alexandre Herer and tenor sax Julien Pontvianne).
The return leg of the exchange will see quintet OXYD, led by Alexandre Herer, on a UK summer tour, in Manchester, Newcastle and London. Dates and venues will be announced later this month.
