Celebrating International Women’s Day

To mark and celebrate International Women’s Day we’re sharing our Jazz Camp for Girl’s handbook which contains words of inspiration and advice from 21 amazing women who contributed to the project. The goal was to make a practical resource which every girl could take away with them after their day at jazz camp to help them on their personal jazz journey.

Our first Jazz Camp for Girls event took place on Sunday 10th February in Lancaster, Manchester, Huddersfield and Rotherham with partners: Sheffield Music Hub, Rotherham Music Service, BlueJam Arts, Trafford Music Service, Lancashire Music Service, University of Huddersfield and supporters Musica Kirklees and Marsden Jazz Festival. Jazz Camp for Girls was made possible thanks to funding support from Ronnie Scott’s Charitable Foundation.

We’re now making plans for the next jazz camps – if your organisation is interested in becoming a partner please get in touch with project leader Helena Summerfield via the contact form.
