Jazz North East has teamed up with the Jazz Promotion Network (JPN) and Dutch Performing Arts (DPA) to invite promoters from across the British Isles as their guests to a full day of music by nine of the finest contemporary jazz artists from the Netherlands – including pianist Kaja Draksler, bassist Wilbert de Joode and saxophonist/clarinettist Ab Baars – plus British favourites Ollie Brice and Faye MacCalman.
JAs the first in a long-term programme of collaborations between the JPN and DPA, complimentary tickets are available to any jazz organiser (not just restricted to JPN members) who is curious to hear just a fraction of the range of music that JPN members have been enjoying in 2016 as a precursor to a year of DPA-supported visits by some of Holland’s finest improvisers.
JAs well as a full day of music there will be a chance to meet colleagues from DPA and JPN, hear more about this European partnership project and the opportunities it provides for our audiences and promoters – with hospitality generously provided by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Northern volunteer promoters can apply to Jazz North for a travel bursary (from 50+ miles) to attend the event – contact firstname.lastname@example.org for details – and Jazz North East have secured a £35 per night deal with a partner hotel for anyone wanting to stay over – contact JNE about the details: admin@jazznortheast
