Jazz North and Lancaster Jazz Festival’s
Artist Development Day

Networking | Workshops | Insight | Support

Thursday 12 September 10.30am – 4pm

Lancaster Brewery, Lancaster

Now in its 3rd year, Jazz North and Lancaster Jazz Festival’s Artist Development Day is dedicated to offering insight and support to artists at every level, giving you the opportunity to focus on your craft and learn key knowledge to help you develop your practice.

We’ve put together the following programme that’s artist focused and inspired by our conversations and evaluations with artists across both Jazz North and Lancaster Jazz Festival’s year round artist development work:

  • A Promoter Panel – Heather Spencer, Daniel Garel and Harkirit Bopari – will answer questions from artists on their approach to programming, what they look for in an artist and how best to grab their attention in a competitive market
  • Rebekah Few from BAPAM will lead a discussion on the challenge of maintaining a healthy work/life balance with a musician lifestyle
  • Book one to one sessions with representatives from Arts Council England, Help Musicians UK, Jazz North and marketing experts
  • An artist networking session led by Faye McCalman as our artist host, will encourage artists to meet each other and share knowledge, challenges and experiences

The event is FREE to attend but please register in advance. (Event has take place).

Lunch is provided, so we need to know how many sandwiches to make.
